On June 12, 1775, two days before the Continental Army was formed, four months before the Continental Navy set sail and 15 years before the Revenue Cutter Service was established... a party of Maine mariners, armed with pitchforks and axes, inspired by the news of the recent victory at Lexington, Massachusetts, used an unarmed lumber schooner to surprise and capture a fully armed British warship, HMS Margaretta, off the coast of Machias, Maine and, in doing so, the United States Merchant Marine was formed.

These Museum-quality posters made on thick, durable, matte paper. A statement in any stateroom. These puppies are printed on archival, acid-free paper and are suitable for framing.
